This is going to be a short post, but one that is perfect for the beginning of the school year.
I am not one to save every single thing that my kids create at school, but I did want to make sure that I had a place for the things that are held on to. I decided that buying hanging file folders (14) and hanging file bins (two per kid) would make things easy to organize. I created labels for each year of school starting with preschool, slapped a label on a hanging file folder, and placed the folders in the bins. I also created a sheet of questions for the kids to answer each year and printed them on card stock. I made sure that I printed out all that I would need (one for each year of school) so that they are ready to go and I would not need to find the file and reprint. I placed one set of questions in each folder and at the start of the next school year all I need to do is pull out the questions and ask away. Once the kids have their school pictures taken I make sure to attach one to the sheet of questions and place any extras in the folder. I made these bins for my sister so that she would be able to do the same for her kids and she agrees that it makes life so much easier. Download the free printables below for the labels as well as the question sheet. These are both Microsoft Word files so you can edit to your liking. |
